Project Details

  • Programmed funding: $3,525,950
  • Appropriated funding: $3,525,950
  • Project type: Rehabilitation/replacement

Description and Scope

This project funds the expansion of the Housing Resource Center (HRC) to add about 30 shelter beds, expand existing bathroom facilities, and expand administrative areas for 30-35 staff members.

This project will include all necessary evaluation, adjustments and modification to the HRC’s security access controls, HVAC system, lighting, electrical system, generator backup, fire suppression system, and others as needed to meet building code and operational requirements.

Purpose and Need

Currently the HRC has a 55-bed capacity for singles. There are more than 300 people on a prioritization list awaiting a shelter bed to be available.

The addition of 30 beds will increase capacity and allow the City to provide shelter for the most vulnerable people experiencing homelessness.

Providing shelter for those experiencing homelessness improves health and safety for the entire community.
