Description and Scope

This project is for the replacement of public safety systems and major equipment across the City. 

Items to be purchased through this project are at or beyond their useful life cycle and are essential to the continuation of providing a safe community.

Included within this list of items is the replacement of public safety technology equipment and protective safety equipment and systems. 

The scope of this project is to replace existing equipment and should not be expanded to include the purchase of additional vehicles, boats, or other similar capital items.

Purpose and Need

As public safety departments expand services and become more technologically advanced, the cost of updating and replacing equipment continually grows. 

This project will provide the City with a means of financing to replace critical public safety equipment and ensure that the City of Virginia Beach remains a safe community.
